A lie that hurt

First let's define a few words:
     1. Lie- To speak falsely or untruth knowingly, as with intent to deceive.
     2. Honest- Freedom from deceit or fraud.

Now let me ask you a question, why is it that we have trouble telling the truth? Now think about this question as I tell you a story.

Here are the characters:
     1. A boy by the name of Kyle
     2. A girl by the name of YOU
     3. Another girl by the name of Flagitious (look up this word and this person is EXACTLY this word except 7 times worse)
     4. Another girl by the name of Petulant (very skinny has brown hair that is always up except chunks by her ears. Her hair seems to always be greasy and she actually has feelings)
     5. Yet another girl by the name of Grand (Very pretty. Has dark hair that is tied up at the top of her head! She is CRAZY for lacrosse and loves every minute of it! She is just herself and doesn't really care what people think of her)
     6. One more girl by the name of Detached (Very sweet, very kind human being. She has long hair that is always done and she absolutely LOVES clothes! She is so much fun to talk to and she doesn't much care for drama)

Those are pretty much everybody in this story of mine. Oh and a little side note this is a true story.

You like Kyle but then he tells you that he doesn't like you anymore so you not wanting to lose this amazing friendship you have between this person, crush any intimate feeling you have for him. You come to the conclusion that you are just friends. (Just some background info)
Then Flagitious, Petulant, Grand, and Detached decide to have a little pow-wow and you find something out about Kyle that you didn't need to know. You were just friends with him and you really didn't need to know that because it was his business not yours, but you know now. Flagitious and Petulant think that you knowing that tidbit of information will make you not even talk to Kyle anymore. But you don't want to lose his friendship so you continue to talk to him. Then something unspeakable happens. Flagitious and Petulant go and talk to him. You find out because Kyle talks to you and tells you that he can’t ever talk to you again (in a summed up version). You heart has just been demolished and you are one of the saddest human beings ever. You are also FURIOUS at your roommates (Petulant and Flagitious).
Finally after what seems like forever (2 days) you talk to them and ask them why they went to talk to Kyle in the first place. This is what they told you: "We went to tell him that we didn't hate him. Because we thought that he thought that we hated him, but we wanted to make sure that he knew we didn't." You knew they were lying because you kept asking them what else they told Kyle and they kept repeating the same things over and over again. You finally let it drop accepting that you may never know.

That was 2 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days ago

Now today on February 6, 2013 you finally find out what Petulant and Flagitious told Kyle and how they led you astray and played with your feelings. They made it sound like Grand and Detached were very much involved but in reality they weren't at all. Detached was with her boyfriend 24/7 so she never got a chance to get involved. Then Grand was sort of pulled into this big mess by those two awful girls. Petulant and Flagitious told you that Grand made everyone else do her dirty work and she went in it in a roundabout way to tell you that Kyle wasn't a 'good' guy. RIDICULOUS.
But today you finally heard Grand's perspective. Apparently the sole reason Petulant and Flagitious went to talk to Kyle was to tell him to stay away from you and that he was leading you on. When in fact he was doing no such thing. And that they were sucking EVERY SINGLE person in on this whole thing to try and get everyone pitted against you.

Now another question, why would Petulant and Flagitious lie about this?
Haha well that's an easy answer. Because they didn't want to be in the wrong. They want to make their actions right by directing my anger at other people. But they should've known that I would've found out eventually, but I guess they weren't counting on me asking Grand about it.

So why is that people have such a hard time telling the truth?
I believe they have a variation of what Petulant and Flagitious felt. You may think no it can't be. But think of every single lie you ever told and answer this, why not?
